This paper presents a summary of findings from research exploring the role of development finance institutions (DFIs) in promoting jobs and productivity change.

There has been increased research on the effects of DFIs generally and on job creation more specifically, but less on the impact on structural transformation.

There are a number of methods that try to measure the impact of DFIs on job-creation effects and structural transformation. This paper discuss these approaches and examine the advantages and disadvantages of each.
