Asia has grown rapidly over the past ten years, making good progress towards the MDGs. Further rapid progress is likely but by no means assured. It is threatened by a wide range of factors. Asian countries face serious challenges to sustaining both growth and poverty reduction. Concerted policy action in response to these challenges will be required to realize the dream of eradicating poverty within a generation.
