摘要 | The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concluded that responding to climate change involves making choices about the risks from the Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) finalized in 2014. While the world has established policies to cope with climate change, there are some limits in connecting natural phenomena with policies, especially when providing values based on the scientific data to support decision making. In this study, we intend to quantify the risk of coastal sea-level rise due to climate change during the next three years, from 2014. In this first year of the study, we examined national risk policies related to climate change and risk quantification methods of the industrialized countries, and developed a risk quantification framework. And we examined the changes of coastal area affected by a 50 year storm surge and a 100 year storm surge using climate change scenarios, RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5, in the Korean peninsula. With these results, we will quantify the sea-level rise risk of Masan bay area using the risk quantification framework over the next two years. |
