摘要	The water supply and sewage treatment services in Korea are experiencing difficulties in rational provision of service due to structural flaws and inefficiencies incurred in management. Ensuring high-quality water services that meet both domestic and global standards entails restructuring water service systems to reorganize the industry structure and increase professionalism in operation. Present system for integrated operation of local WSS(water supply and sanitation) systems - which is being pushed at the policy level to beef up the competitiveness and efficiency of the WSS sector - is difficult to realize the efficiency gain at the moment with limited competition, deficiency of policy tools to propel the integration, and unprepared governance structure. In order to accomplish efficiency improvement and competitiveness reinforcement through industry restructuring, effective governance of integrated WSS system is important and establishing policies for integrated WSS is in need. This research analyzes the effect of restructuring WSS industry and provides policies to improve the effectiveness of restructuring and promote the growth of the water supply and sewage treatment service industry based on rational management and competitiveness.
