The „Report on the German Power System“ shall serve as a tool for professionals working on different aspects of the power system. It provides an overview of the main features of the German power system, including industry structure, production and consumption, trade, market design, grid infrastructure and several aspects of the regulatory system.
The report deliberately does not cover every detail, but aims at providing a bigger picture. Furthermore, as systems are permanently changing, the report must be seen as a snapshot of the German power market at the end of 2014. It shall be updated on a frequent basis. The Germany Report is the fourth in a series of country profiles – following Reports on the power systems of Poland, The Netherlands and France.
